St. Roch 1:72 (BIL-510605)
OverviewThe St. Roch was built in 1928 by the Burrard Dry Dock Company in Vancouver. This type of ship is specially designed for use in Arctic waters, survived 21 summers and 8 winters in the Polar region.
St. Roch was the first ship to complete the voyage through the Northwest Passage from the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic Ocean. In the summer of 1944 it also became the first ship to successfully make this trip in both directions by returning from Halifax to Vancouver.
