Battleship "GALEOTTA" (MSN 1419)
The Greek Independence War (1821-1827) is best remembered by the seabattle of Navarino,
characterized by a host of confrontations between Greek and Turkish hijackers - Egyptian ships.
This ship was very manoeuvrable and with shallow draft, this allowed these galleys to hide well in the narrow bays of the Aegean islands and then to attack the Turkish ships with a fast oar.
